As I was growing up, I fell in love with photography at the age of 14, learning to use my dad's film SLR camera. I started shooting anything and everything but soon took interest in Missouri's wildflowers, as it offered me the chance to just be outside. Eventually, this gave way to landscape photography.
When I'm not working (and sometimes when I am), I'm thinking/dreaming of my next photo excursion outside the hustle and bustle of the city life.
I favor the rich colors offered to us during sunrise and sunset (often referred to as alpenglow) and I'm often awake and hiking to locations well before anyone else's alarm goes off. Seeing as a full night's sleep is something that I need to function, my weekends are usually spent sipping on coffee to stay awake after a long morning hike! I do my absolute best to let the beauty of nature speak for itself, without contamination from copious amounts of post-processing typically seen in today's crowded landscape photography scene.
This passion of mine has allowed me the opportunity to witness some amazingly beautiful places, and for that I'm truly thankful. I hope that, if nothing else, my work inspires you to put down the cell phone, turn off the television and to get up off the couch to observe the natural beauty that surrounds us each and every day. Life is too short to go through it with our eyes glued to a screen - get out there and witness something beautiful, but leave the selfie stick at home :)
Oh, and not that you asked but I also really like live music, playing guitar and recording my own music, growing out a beard on the weekends, a perfectly frothed vanilla latte, my 71 Mustang Mach 1, good people and good conversations. Want to know more? Contact me here.
